Third Island music explained;

Scrunge Music; A collection of energetic musical events presented in a stochastic manner. Scrunge is violent, dissonant and humourous in equal measures. Fred Frith and his guitar antics could be considered precursors of scrunge.

Glissando Guitar; A form of slide guitar where the strings are bowed with a metal slide. Glissando guitar is polytonal and frequently departs from the standard western system of tonality.
Daevid Allen and Steve Hillage were amongst the first pioneers of this type of music.

Matrix Guitar:

Thworm; A stringed instrument with four strings and several movable violin bridges along its length. It is played with a bow, and has at least one electric guitar pickup under each section.

Scrunge Guitar; First snap the neck of your guitar, then bend the neck to obtain the extreme pitch bends which are the cornerstone of this guitar technique.

Occelot Guitar; A form of prepared guitar where metal bars are woven into the strings of the guitar. These bars are then set in motion by striking them with mallets.

Things We Like To Do To Sound; Loop it, sample it, echo it, pitch shift it, reverse it, play it at half or double speed, distort it, destroy it. Then we mix it all together.
